Wage Dispute to Cost East Greenbush, N.Y., Electrical Contracting Firm.

Feb. 20--LaCorte Cos. Inc. of East Greenbush will pay $500,000 to more than 200 workers to settle a prevailing-wage case brought by the state attorney general's office.

The 22-year-old LaCorte, a nonunion shop, agreed to resolve the case involving alleged underpayment of workers on public works jobs, Attorney General Eliot Spitzer's office announced Tuesday.

Investigators said the company was improperly paying benefits under a wage-supplement program put together by Compensation Programs Inc., or CPI.
