Baldwin Unveils Home Connect at CES
Type: News

Baldwin Hardware, a manufacturer of architectural door and decorative hardware, announced it showcased its latest security advancement, a keyless access control product offering with Home Connect.

Home Connect technology enables these keyless electronic locks to communicate wirelessly with other devices in the home by remote access, mobile phone, touch panel or secure Internet connection at the CES event in Las Vegas.
According to a release, Home Connect allows door locks to wirelessly speak to other systems within a house, such as security, lighting and entertainment systems. Homeowners may create a series of living environments, so that upon entrance, they are greeted by their own ideal specifications. In addition, locks with this technology allow homeowners to check door lock status and arm/ disarm security systems from virtually anywhere, the company noted.

Baldwin said it plans to initially offer two entry styles with Home Connect in spring 2010. Also, in supporting both ZigBee and Z- Wave wireless protocols homeowners are offered the most complete wireless solution.

"As a leader in both style and innovation, we aim to balance technology with Baldwin's tradition of excellence and craftsmanship," said Rob Empfield, Brand Manager for Baldwin Hardware. "The company rose from modest beginnings to capture the imagination of those who design homes for Presidents, style icons and lovers of historic architecture. In turn, the Baldwin enthusiast expects the finest, with a portfolio designed to meet a variety of stylistic choices. Our latest additions live up to that expectation, while continuing to respond to the evolving needs of homeowners today."
